update error after ssd migration 0xc8000247

alignment and everything else works well, but can not update security or windows files...tried trouble shooters, limited results but no resolution..
still have original hard drive used, vista install disk, plus prior images and current image done with macrium reflect.
system is dual boot, older xp which is firewalled, plus vista premium 32 bit which is 5 years in use...
computer is slightly overclocked q9550 with ep45ud3p mboard and 4 g ram, other computers are win 7 laptop and newish win 8.1 with 4790k processor w 16 gb memory,
but would like to try to repair Vista machine while I finish set-up on 4790k machine..
Have removable hd inserts..

This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -

SOLVED....installed new drivers, system downloaded defender update and "Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538242)" TWICE, successfully..
Followed "http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_update/windowsupdate-keeps-installing-kb2538242-every/c3aa2522-00bc-4f31-9388-116124d4d35a" and I am
up & running....Made new drive image immediately, THANX...dhsvcs
