[SOLVED] Unable to update to Windows 10 as Update stuck in continual unsuccessful restart loop

Hi, everyone

I am unfortunately in a situation where I am unable to do anything with my laptop as it continually restarts roughly every half an hour. Windows Update says there are updates to make but I have the message Windows can't update important files and services while the system is using them. I've tried a Clean Boot but still receive the same message in Windows Update. I am therefore unable to upgrade to Windows 10 either.

I was wondering if someone may be able to help fix this problem as I'm currently unable to use my laptop for anything substantial or meaningful with it restarting all the time.

Strangely, having thought I'd tried everything I could, upon resetting the defaults to take my laptop out of Clean Boot mode, when restarting to apply these the updates installed successfully!
