Hello, I ran SURT and the log returned 2 corrupt files both from package KB3160005 x64. I downloaded the package and extracted the files but cannot find the 2 files it requires. I found very similar ones but they have "rtm" in the name.

The files are in the package file but they are not the right ones as I have tried running Surt again with these files.

package_for_kb3160005_rtm~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~11.2.1.0.mum
package_for_kb3160005_rtm~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~11.2.1.0.cat

Where would I find the 2 corrupt files or am I missing something simple?

Kind Regads
Luke

Hi,

To fix those files please do the following:

SFCFix Script

!!! WARNING !!! The following fix is only relevant for this system and no other, applying this fix on another computer will not work and most likely will cause problems...
  • Download SFCFix.exe (by Niemiro) and save it to the Desktop
  • Download the file SFCFIX.ZIP, attached below, and save this to your Desktop
  • On your Desktop, make sure you have the two files:
    myjIXnC.png
    SFCFix.exe and
    sfpcJCen14An3ndjNGCI7mByhjHJud.png
    SFCFIX.zip
  • Drag the file SFCFIX.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it
  • The SFCFix tool will process the script
  • Upon completion, a log file SFCFix.txt should be created on your Desktop
  • Open the SFCFix.txt log and copy & paste the contents to your post

I have downloaded the package, extracted the files from the cab file, and I can only find the ones with RTM in the name
"package_for_kb3160005_rtm~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~11.2.1.0.cat"
Am I missing something simple?
Sorry
Luke

Ah thank you, that makes sence! I have been suing 7zip. I ran the SFCFix btw and it solved the problem thank you again.

Sorry to be a pain, I have downloaded the extractor above and used it, I have also used the "expand -f:*" command as well to extract all the files. I still cannot find them in both KB316005 and KB4074736 packages. I have another computer with exact same files missing just in a different package. I downloaded the KB packages from Microsoft Update Catalouge website.

One thing I did notice whe using the "expand -f:*" is the report at the end is missing 8 files. I don't know if the extractor is doing the same or I am being an idiot :banghead:KB4074736 (2).pngKB4074736 (3).pngKB4074736.png

Hi,

Those are base packages, you have to rename the update.cat and update.mum files accordingly.

package_for_kb4074736~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~11.2.1.0.cat
package_for_kb4074736~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~11.2.1.0.mum
