Hi -

I am unable to apply windows updates as follows: KB5058392, KB5055519 & 5060531each time these updates install but during the reboot it then uninstalls them all.

I have tried to install them from windows update in the server and manually neither worked. Also applied SFC check and no errors were detected, DISM and updated cache and services.

Does anyone experience the same issue and if someone can point me to the correct steps to resolve?

Hi @koozer,

Welcome to Sysnative Forums!

If you haven't already, please review the posting instructions here, and attach the requested log files. Without log files, our helpers will not be able to assist, and this will slow down fixing your machine.

If logs have been already been provided, our team of volunteers will analyse the provided log files to build a fix for your system. Please be aware that this may take several days from your initial post, due to the high volume of threads that we receive.

Hi and welcome to Synative,

Upload the setupapi.dev.log file
  • Open Windows Explorer and browse to the C:\Windows\INF folder.
  • Right-click on the file setupapi.dev.log and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • Now the message will appear, "Windows cannot create the Compressed (zipped) Folder here. Do you want it to be placed on the desktop instead?"
  • Click on the Yes button here.

  • Attach the file setupapi.dev.zip in your next reply.

Hi,

Download

SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Afterwards attempt to update. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS logs and the Setupapi.dev.log.

Please use SFCFix.exe with the attached ZIP-file, just drag and drop the ZIP into SFCFix to apply the fix. Now you have just started SFCFix the normal way, so please follow the instructions again.

@ Maxtstar - update kb5060531 is installed however update kb5055519 & kb5058392 are not installing keeps saying not applicable..

Hi,

Great, the upates are cumulative, so when KB5060531 is installed the previous updates are no longer necessary.
