Many United States federal, state and local police agencies allow officers to take both marked and unmarked police cars home each day free of charge.

The United Kingdom now wants to tax police officers that do the same. No word in the US about this yet that I've seen, but it is likely on at least the IRS' radar.

Undercover police face £5,000 tax on unmarked cars

The rest of us do have to pay for our commuting expenses.
