Too much hardware reserved RAM?

Hi everyone,

I'm back! I have recently bought a new DELL Inspiron 3585, and went to check my RAM, and I can only seem to use 5.9GB out of a possible 8GB. Is that normal? I have included a screenshot of Task manager, should you need it.

It's likely that your hardware in the laptop needs the rest and it has been automatically allocated by the system.

Yes, a portion of addressable memory will be allocated to hardware devices such as your video card.
