[SOLVED] System reboots every time it wakes from sleep (no BSOD and Error 41 in Event Viewer) FIX: reinstalled BIOS firmware

Got some great support from this board last time I needed help 2 years ago, hoping someone can help me again!

The subject says it all really. Started happening in the last 2 weeks, can't be more specific than that I'm afraid.
I'm sure you are familiar with Error 41 but to remind you, the text of this error in Event Viewer is:
"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

I've attached the SysnativeFileCollectionApp data that I just ran. Please let me know what else you need in order to diagnose further (eg: CBS.log from SFC etc)

Things I've tried so far:
1. Disconnecting external display (LG Ultra HD monitor). Still same result
2. Running SFC /scannow (it DOES find some errors that it can't fix, but I haven't attached the log file, as I shall wait for instructions)
3. Running MalwareBytes anti malware (nothing pertinent found)

· OS: Windows 10 x64 10.0.18363.752 (Upgraded from OEM Windows 8 installation, a LONG time ago)
· Age of system: 6years 3 months
· Age of OS installation: A reinstall was done about 2 years ago whilst a member here was helping me solve another problem
· CPU: Intel i5 4200U
· Video Card: nVidia GeForce GT 745M and Integrated Intel HD (4400)
· System Manufacturer: ASUS
· Exact model number: N550LF-CK026H (Laptop)

I am dual booting with Ubuntu (haven't used it for ages), Fast Startup is DISABLED.
Windows Update is up to date with no failed updates.

The driver is already up to date. As is the nVidia driver. Unless you’ve seen something in the attachments that says otherwise?

Ok I will consider that. But are you able to see anything from the attached files that says that this is the cause of the issue?
Ultimately this is a BSOD / crash issue, so I would prefer to get some input from someone on the attached logs before diverting things towards a Windows Update issue (which I agree may also be an issue, but unless you’ve seen something specific in the logs I attached, I don’t see why I should assume this is the root cause..my Windows Update is working and up to date as far as I can tell).

if you look at details in Eventvwr and you see this:

all parameters are Zero, then it is your Powersupply within 99%, otherwise your mainboard fails.

All parameters are NOT zero. So I appreciate the theory but I don't think that's it.

It seemed like a lot of effort to collect all those files using the tool you guys supplied...is anyone going to look in the files for clues? I would love to but I have no idea what I'm looking for!

Further information: It occurred to me that I could boot into my Ubuntu partition and see if the problem occurs when running Ubuntu instead of Windows 10.

It DOES.

So presumably that must mean it's the BIOS power management or some kind of power supply issue as suggested above? Any ideas how I could run a test to determine which one?

Error 41 is quite a generic error code, and since you've had issues with corrupt system files in the past, I would firstly begin with testing your SSD.

Hi. I've had a look at the SMART value of my Samsung EVO SSD and all the values are "OK"

I've run that now as well. All basic tests pass.

I went with my gut feeling that it was the BIOS (can think of no reason why). Reflashed the same version (it's not been updated for years) and presto, problem is solved.

Should I start a new thread for the SFC errors, which apparently are not related to this (fixed) issue?

I would suggest so, it will likely cause you other issues in the future.

if those bugcheckparams 1 to 4 are zero, you have a powerproblem, its not a generic error code and as even ubuntu fails, there it is^^
