Suggestions for a free, or one-time purchase lifetime license password manager.

Okay. So it seems the main difference between Premium and Free is support for different platforms and cloud backups. That would not affect me as I only use Windows and I don't want my PWs on my phone. And don't trust the cloud. Thanks for posting that.

That said, $29.99 for a lifetime license might be too hard to pass up.

You can use the free version forever. 😀

That's true. But I can only see a very limited distance into the future. One day I might want to sync my PWs to my tablet or phone, for example - or have an easy way to copy my PW database to a second computer, my laptop, for example.

Sadly, I am discovering it takes a long time to test out a PW manager when you are looking to manage 100s of PWs grouped into a dozen or so categories. And oddly, I find I have less time for things now that I am retired than I did when I was working.

A couple issues with Sticky I am not happy about.

First, when I click on the icon to call up my SplashID PW Manager, Sticky has tossed up a popup reminding me my trial copy of Sticky expires in x number of days. Don't like the idea Sticky injected itself into my SplashID PW manager. IMO, it does not need to know what I am clicking on, unless it is its own icon.

Second, when I call up SplashID and enter its master PW, it now takes ~5-6 seconds to load and fill the page of my list of accounts and passwords. It used to "pop" open. At first, I didn't make the connection and thought something else was affecting the performance of SplashID. Then I noticed Sticky's icon was "hidden" (by default, apparently :() in my System/Notification tray.

I exited Sticky using that hidden icon then started SplashID. It popped open as expected. I started Sticky again, and sure enough, SpashID slows down again. :( Exit Sticky and SplashID's quick performance returns.

So now I have reconfigured Sticky to NOT load with Windows - which should be the default, IMO - and will see how it goes over the next few days.

Because Windows downloads apps via browser, they are more likely to attract malware. I'm not a Mac fanboy, but at least apps come in through the more protected OS.
