The other two slots wouldn't work at all, but that configuration isn't supported by the motherboard so I'm not sure if that's the reason why or if the motherboard is defective.
I also decided to try all 4 sticks again just for kicks and again, it worked for a short while but after a few hours I started getting BSOD again.
I went through all sticks again 1 at a time and now the computer won't boot with a certain stick so I'm planning to RMA the RAM again.
It's just really strange that all 4 work for a brief time, even showing up as 32 GB of RAM by BIOS and Windows, and then the one fails. Why would it ever work at all temporarily?
