From what I see from posting over at MS Answers all the time, it seems to be a really great OS but there are quite a number of issues with the preview. I imagine as soon as it's released fully it will be right on par with Windows 7.

It suffered from the same problem vista did in my opinion: Neither of them were out of the box ready like xp/7. Now that I have W8 all set up and configured to my liking I prefer it over 7.

Click to expand... The snappiness mainly, it is way more responsive than 7. The whole UI is faster, from booting to file management. I haven't tried the 8.1 preview... It doesn't offer anything that interests me.
