Hi All.

Next Saturday we planned to upgrade our forum from VB4.2.1 to VB 5+ .

We have a rather large board.. 500.000+ messages and 7700+ users.
Tips or tricks needed for upgrade - vBulletin Community Forum

So. . . Do our numbers mean we are currently a "somewhat large board" on our way to becoming a "rather large board"? :grin1:

Looking at the "join date" of Zachery, it appears it has also been around ~10 years longer than we have. What will Sysnative be like in 10 years?

It's hard to imagine where we'll be in 10 years time. Hopefully in a very good place :)

I don't think it's that forum though which was being discussed, but this one: chauffeursforum.nl, het forum van en voor de (vrachtwagen) chauffeur
I'm not sure how old it is.

You might also notice though that the thread John linked to was from 2013. The forum under question is now being run under IPB forum software, not VB5 at all. Interpret that how you will :)

Earliest post I could see there was Oct 2008 - and it appears to my very limited knowledge of the language to be the 'statement of intent' for the forum. ;)

Talking about large forums/boards, this is the largest one I have seen:

Whirlpool Forums

Code:
Membership
    660,921 registered members
15,873 visited in past 24 hrs
    1,506 members are online now
    1,641 guests are visiting

Big numbers
    2,091,593 threads
    44,887,582 posts

I think the largest forum I know of is Hack Forums (I'm not going to link to it for obvious reasons):

Code:
Threads: 3,108,582
Posts: 43,287,064
Members: 2,485,916

XDA are pretty large too (http://forum.xda-developers.com/):

Code:
Threads: 2,473,736
Posts: 53,481,199
Members: 5,923,417
Active Members: 428,509
