Skype backtracks: Will still support hardware and call recording, despite ceasing third-party apps

Skype has changed its mind and will continue supporting third-party hardware through its applications, a Skype spokesperson told Pocket-lint.
The backtrack in policy comes after the Microsoft-owned company originally had plans to shut down its API fully last week, taking third-party headsets and video cameras purchased by customers with it. The Skype community was a tad outraged, as their spent money on once-supported hardware thought to work forever now no longer would. Luckily for them, Skype has changed this policy.
