I've been trying for five weeks to get Skype to install and it just crashes. I decided to try ooVoo instead but the video doesn't work.
I've been following many fixes that don't actually fix things and now I've run out of ideas...has anyone any idea what is wrong please? Could the same problem be stopping both of them from working properly?

When does it crash? In the middle of the install? Do you know for certain your camera and audio works?

With Skype it's after it's installed and when you first open it - it just crashes all of the time. Uninstalled and reinstalled but problem is the same. This has been going on for five weeks now and all the fixes given to me do not work.
I managed to get ooVoo to work yesterday and it said something about high CPU being a problem with it. My CPU fluctuates between 12 - 60

Sorry, camera and video both work.
That should be audio (as in mic and speakers). 60% CPU is high, but not extremely high, especially if it is not sitting up there for long periods of time.

Sorry, but I really don't have a solution for you. Have you scanned for malware? Do you have the latest drivers for your camera? Have you tried this on a different computer?
