This is a thread idea taken from TSF... Just as it says, if you want to show off your computer, any modifications or just a new build post some pics.

I will start it off...

Just moved my "office" from my kids room to the basement and cleaned the dust out of my PC while I had it disconnected. Decided to snap a pic. Pretty much a vanilla build in an Antec 300, but hey... I gave up my modification projects a while ago due to time and money constraints... Later on I will show you another...

lol. Your cable management is better than mine! I will get pics up soon, but I have an enormous Antec Lan Boy Air (Blue) case, a modular PSU, and not a lot more. However, I have done such a terrible, terrible job of cable management that I couldn't even slot a second hard disk in without having to rewire half the PC, yesterday! I have such an easy job of cable management compared to some, and somehow I have made it impossible to slide even a hard disk in. *sigh*.

Lol. My cable management isn't to make it look pretty its to get the cables out of the way for air flow. I guess you could say I'm a purist.

The problem with my cable management was every cable tie was used to pull some cable out of the way of some particular fan, with cables pulling other cables out of the way of other fans as a consequence of cable tangling pulling yet another cable back in the way of yet another fan. Unfortunately, when it came to putting an extra hard disk in, and I had to make space, I undid one cable tie, there was a terrible chain reaction, and they all got tangled back into all the fans again, and I had to re-wire completely! I still have no idea how I did such a terrible job of it not only the first time, but the second time also (it is no better) *sigh*.

It takes patience and practice. If I was worried about making my computer look pretty inside I could spend upwards of 3 hours just with cable management.

Here's is a project I just completed, my primary rig. It's an Inwin Dragon Rider I painted blue and I'm in the process now to put a side window in and get rid of the big dust hole grille. The
black mesh cloth is for dust filtering.

I don't feel like pulling out my computer and dusting it for pictures :rofl12:

Here is what some searches around pulled up:

Here is an old one:

Yeah, that's about it :rofl12:

Everything in my room has a black case and blue LEDs...

My Xbox:

Although, I recently added an intake fan:

Its a transparent black case. :grin1:

Looks normal when it is off but becomes see-through when back lit...

Although I have a Thermaltake Iflash to monitor the temps and cool down the GPU directly...

I no longer have a blue Ring of life.... Ended up going bad and I had to replace it... I made a tutorial at TSF out of it though :lolg:

Wow, I love that! Looks amazing all lit up! You like black cases with lights don't you.

I have to say, they do look amazing!

I don't have anything that amazing, just a Dell laptop (Dell XPS 15 L502x) an a fairly basic desk. Nothing fancy!

That is awesome! Only drawback is there does not appear to be room for a high end, dedicated graphics card. I'd have to go back and look at my own Nintendo for the dimensions, but if memory serves, it is not tall enough for a good display card. Of course, dedicated display cards are not necessary for everyone, so you may not care.

Overall, I am impressed with your ingenuity and the end result!

Well... There isn't much you can get on a Mini-ITX board anyhow... I settled for the AMD E350 APU for the on die 6210 GPU... Suprisingly good performance. With a little bit of work, I could make one with a half-height dedicated GPU for a slight boost, but it works quite well for a HTPC / Emulator box.

Ah, I did not notice it was a Mini-ITX, though I probably should have assumed it was not a regular motherboard. It would have to be a smaller model to fit in the Nintendo casing. It looks great, and it sounds like it meets the requirements for use. Excellent work.

Did your Nintendo still function prior to the upgrade?

Due to some issues I am having with my PC, I decided to revert to my TX850 PSU (complete with Medusa head of wires) and do a complete tear-down and inspection of all of it's components.

While it was apart, my son and I made a few minor modifications and did a little house-cleaning on the wire situation...

DSCN1180.jpgDSCN1182.jpg

Changes made...

  • Replace SeaSonic X650 with Corsair TX850 PSU.
  • Replace CoolerMaster V8 Fan with high speed/flow Thermaltake 12cm fan.
  • Replace Antec Tri-Cool LED fan at rear with the above CoolerMaster fan. (better airflow).
  • Remove Scythe fan speed controller/front USB/Front eSATA/Card Reader/Audio jack/Power-Reset button.
  • Clean CoolerMaster 14cm top fan.
  • Drill and grommet holes for CPU header, ATX-24 header, F-Panel connections, HDAudio & FPUSB.
  • Clean and inspect all HW components for physical damage/failures.

@laXer... I showed my son the video of your XBOX... He thought it was cool as heck too...
