Hi,

Hope you can help me. I have recently started getting intermittent BSODs; after running sfc and then sfcfix.exe I still have some corrupt files that sfcfix doesn' seem able to fix. sfcfix log attached. I am running a Teamos Windows 7 version, Crux.

Thank you.

Hello and welcome,

Attach the file C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log to your next reply.

Hi Peter,

I am attaching CheckSUR.log. I have had a look at some of the files that say "corrupted" and find most of them empty. I am running a 32 bit TeamOs version of Windows 7.

Thank you for your help.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Attach that file to your next reply.

Outstanding, Peter! That appears to have fixed it! I'm a retired IT Tech but that had me beat!

Thank you!

Great and your welcome. Run the SURT tool again to see if there are other corruptions.

Start the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again.
On completion, attach the logfile C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log to your next reply.

Great. Thanks for your donation. (y)

Restart the computer.
Open an elevated command prompt.
Copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each.

Code:
sfc /scannow
Wait for this to finish before you continue

If there are still issues reported do following:
Code:
copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Zip this file and attach the zipped cbs.txt to your next post.

Hi, done that and attached file. I would be interested to find out more in this area; can you point me to some information or tutorial? I'd be grateful; Thank you.

Thanks for the link; I'll have a look. Well, it's doesn't seem to have any problems but it had a BSOD today out of the blue! the usual - 0x000000F4

Using bluescreenview from Nirsoft and found nothing; haven't been getting minidumps lately even though I have it setup correctly to do that! I'll keep searching! Cheers.

We can have a look at the BSOD.

Please wait while your computer restarts.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Click on Start - All Programs - Accessories.
Right-click on Command-prompt and select Run as administrator.
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, press enter afterwards.

Code:
chkdsk c: /f
At the question "Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)", press Y.
Restart the system.

Do not press any key during the restart. This will allow CHKDSK to start.
Wait for this to complete. Please note that this may take several hours. Let it run even if it looks like the process has stopped!
On completion, the system will restart automatically.
