[Win7] Sfc shows corrupt files after successful clean via autochk
I was having significant issues with file corruption seemingly without cause. Applications' .exe files were corrupt. The "AppData\Roaming" directory was corrupt. And autochk.exe was corrupt so it couldn't run to fix the other stuff. After replacing autochk.exe with a clean copy from another source, it ran and fixed the errors. My computer is functioning normally. I ran "chkdsk /r" again just to make sure. Clean.
Now, when I run "sfc /scannow", I'm seeing autochk.exe is marked corrupt again (unrepairable) as well as sntsearch.dll.mui (unrepairable) and security.dll (marked "repaired by copying from backup").
Why? What should I do? And, how is this happening?
I'm attaching the relevant sections of the CBS.log file.
Thanks.
