It makes no difference.
You can select either. If you select upgrade this PC now, the tool will automatically download and try to upgrade the machine, which should work. However, in case it fails, you might be better with having the iso to upgrade from in order to save time in case of (eventual) troubleshooting.
Well now, so after much hesitation I finally went ahead with an in-place upgrade! I used the Media Creation Tool to create an ISO, & used that method for perhaps less updates!? Whoever said the process is relatively quick & easy (that's all I've been reading in various guides!) is LYING!
, It took nearly 3hrs to complete, & froze at 42% then 84%, after & including re-starts!
I panicked a lot
BUT, cut a long story short, check this out:==>>
At long last, I can finally create a decent backup, & more importantly, I can now Clone my HDD to my newly aquired M.2 SSD, & not have to worry about
sfc /scannow!! :)
.... I hung out doing the in-place upgrade, hoping I'd be able to fix it an easier way,
but...
Thanks for all your help with this problem
