Hi guys - wondering if you could help me avoid a resintall.

So, I've had multiple BCD issues and after days of trying eventually got it repaired with a startup USB on my USB 2.0 port (not 3.0, sheesh!).

I'm still getting errors on both Windows Startup Repair SFC and while running SFC in windows.
I also haven't been able to reinstall Windows from USB startup, with it not registering Windows, but have been able to ATTEMPT to restore, but will not save settings.
It still starts up into Windows 7 (after fixing BCD).
No viruses are showing in either Avira or Kapersky, or Superantispyware.
I have run iobit systemcare, then tweaking.com windows repair (as I was having issues), and regularly CCleaner registry cleaner.
Wondering if iobit was the cause?

In Windows 7 x64 I get:
Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of th
em.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

For some reason I couldn't attach the CBS log from running SFC in Windows, so uploaded to Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/62rcfw799abn4tf/CBS.log?dl=0

Appreciate any help or advice!

Hi and welcome to Sysnative. The errors that you have are a known issue and Microsoft is working on a fix. They don't cause any Windows Update issues so you can safely ignore them. More info on this is below. We can run one more tool (instructions are below) to see if there is any corruption we need to fix related to Windows Update/Servicing. If not then I would recommend posting a thread in our Windows 7 forum.

This update contains the following two manifests that are occasionally updated by the Diagnostic Tracking Service:

telemetry.ASM-WindowsDefault.json
utc.app.json

The two files are marked as static files in the update. When an advanced user runs the System File Checker Tool (sfc.exe), the files are unintentionally flagged as corrupted. There is no impact or corruption on a device that is running this update, and this issue will be fixed in a later service update.

Step#1 - System Update Readiness Tool (SUR)
1. Download and run the following file.
2. When it asks you if you wish to install, please answer yes. Note: It could take 15 minutes or more to run. Please don't cancel.
3. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running.
4. Please attach the log from the following location. C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log

Thanks for reply - I eventually got it to recognise the Windows disk and just reinstalled, was overdue for a clean start.
Thanks again
