I am on windows 10 Pro 22H2 x64
I ran sfc /scannow and got this:
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

I also cannot update and run into problems when updating
I've tried doing a repair-install with an ISO but it failed too.

I tried to run the SFCFix tool but was met with this:

SFCFix version 3.0.2.1 by niemiro.
Start time: 2025-05-12 20:20:24.999
Microsoft Windows 10 Build 19045 - amd64
Not using a script file.

SFCFix version 3.0.2.1 by niemiro has encountered an unhandled exception.
Currently storing 0 datablocks.
Finish time: 2025-05-12 20:21:49.160

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

I have moved your thread to the Windows Update section.

Step 1. Download
67139f7e69a58-SFCFix-ico.PNG
SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the System File Checker and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
SFC /Scannow

Let's check the HDD/SSD first with the following tool.

Download
520c07ffc7e11-CrystalDiskInfo-Canned.png
Crystal DiskInfo and save it to your Desktop.
  • Run the installer to install the program.
  • When finished, open the installed program by double clicking on it.
    • Good - There are no problems found, the drive is working properly.
    • Caution - The drive have some problems. (which indicates a drive that you should most likely be thinking about backing up and replacing.)
    • Bad - This usually indicates a drive that’s dead or near death. (! - Back up all important data as soon as possible.)
  • Resize the window so that all information is visible.
  • Take a screenshot of what you see and post it in your next reply.[/lis

This looks good, please run the System File Checker again and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
SFC /Scannow

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations. Yay!! I'll attach the CBS log anyways. Thank you for your help.

Great, please attempt to update. If it fails attach a new new copy of the CBS logs.

I think it install some of the items that popped up but this shows up for the others. I'm trying to see if just trying to retry works. 1747060584052.webp1747060595729.webp

Please ZIP the CBS log(s) first, this will reduce the file size.

Download
61f7aba7309a1-ComponentsScanner_Icon.png
ComponentsScanner and save it to your desktop.
  • Right-click ComponentsScanner.exe and select "Run as administrator", click Yes on the UAC (User Account Control) prompt which appears.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Once complete, a report will be saved to your desktop called ComponentsScanner.txt.
  • Post the logfile ComponentsScanner.txt as attachment into your next reply.

Upload your COMPONENTS hive.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

I also encountered an error trying to startup after restart earlier, starting to intimidate me.

EDIT: Added the logfile for the Automatic Repair also.

I think I'll have to stop here for now. It's getting very late and I also got scared by the failed start-up. Thank you so much for your help.
