G'day, Team.

Windows Edition: Server 2022 Standard
Version: 21H2
OS Build: 20348.1850

I have been experiencing these update issues for a couple of months now and it seems I am not the only one. Updates are failing with error 0x800f0982.

I have followed all standard 'fixes' available.
SFC shows no errors as well as DSIM. Reinstall of language packages was also not successful, renaming Softwaredistribution folder, catroot etc. as a solution was not successful either.

I have attached the CBS log files (1st file is before try to update again, 2nd file is after trying to install the update) Also attached the components files which is not showing any problems.

I guess my last hope is set to sysnative.
Thank you for your help in advance, if you need more information, please let me know.

Cheers
Ray

  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Afterwards attempt to upate and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS logs.
