Hi there , I have approx 4 servers all with the same issue , these were all built in March this year 2024 , i was able to install the march cumulative update no problem when i was building the servers , but since then , no cumulative updates have worked , ive tried every month , even the latest October one fails, ive tried SFC and DISM already but then came across this website which seems to have helped others in a similar situation

i also built some 2022 servers in May , and installed the May cumulative update , and these have been fine,
have uploaded the files you require after running those commands again , if you could help fix this you would be helping us alot ,

Thanks in advance

Hi i think i found another easy fix , tried it on 1x server and it worked, (well is showing up to date now.. ) i used a new ISO containing october updates , so perhaps wont know for sure until next month.

I've also had this exact same problem with several VMs running Server 2022. They've been giving me the dreaded 0x800f081f error every month and are unable to update.

The simplest way to solve it is to update by running the setup.exe file from a newer ISO file.

For example, the current ISO is "en-us_windows_server_2022_updated_aug_2024_x64_dvd_17b2bb17.iso"

Just run setup.exe and tell it to keep your programs, data and settings intact. Everything will be preserved.
