[SOLVED] Server 2022 Bugcheck crashes. PROBLEM: CPU was running at 100%, due to powercfg hanging. FIX: KB5023705 (March 14, 2023) solved this.

Hi,

I'am not a BSOD analyst, but the CPU is running at high temperatures as it seems (79 °C degrees from the Speccy log), this is quite a long way above the normal operating temps!

I would suggest to take a look at the cooling of this system first. Insufficient heat transfer from the CPU might be the cause of overheating the RAM modules as well.

Normal temps for this CPU are in idle: > 30/40 °C normal usage > 50/60 °C > max 75 °C.

Well, it turns out you might be more of an expert than you think! That was the issue. It was due to powercfg hanging. The CPU was running at 100% all the time, though, I am not sure why the fan wasn't running harder. It stayed quiet the whole time. The patch that fixed the powercfg hanging solved everything.

In the BIOS you can adjust the fan speed under H/W monitor. It might be worth taking a look at the these settings..
