[SOLVED] Server 2019 Update error 0x800f0986

Trying to update the system get an error when installing KB5032196. Ran DISM.exe /online Cleanup-image /Restorehealth Runs till 20.4 % then gets error 23. Ran sfc /scannow verification 100 % complete.

Please try the following to collect a copy of the corrupted file with SFCFix.

Download

SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

• Download the attachment SFCFixScript.txt and save it to your desktop.
• Drag the SFCFixScript.txt file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

• SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
• Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called File.zip.
• Attach this file as attachment to your next reply.

had to search for it but could not see it when i browsed sorry

found why as in explorer desktop was pointing to \\fileserver\users$\administrator\Desktop

Unfortunately the manifest file is a 0 bytes file!

Do you have backups of this server to extract and provide another copy of it? This because I don't have a known good copy on my VM's and the corresponding update is already pulled from the Windows Update Catalog as it seems!

i cannot copy it to the folder it says access denied to overwrite original.
