Hi - hope someone can help me out here.
I went to install September patches on this server, but I note that it is still displaying August patches (which I hadn’t got round to installing yet)
I tried installing the displayed August update – but it failed “Windows update could not be installed because of error 2149842967” Forcing an update scan to find the new updates does not return Septembers updates, August remain.
When I tried to manually run August or Septembers after downloading from WU catalogue – it said “This update is not applicable to your machine”. They are the correct ones.
I have reset Windows Update components – this didn’t work.
The WU trouble-shooter says that the database is corrupted.
Server has been reboot several times.
SFC /scannow shows “Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.”
SFCFix crashes and exits with the log file saying: SFCFix version 3.0.2.1 by niemiro has encountered an unhandled exception. Currently storing 0 datablocks.
