[SOLVED] Server 2016 DISM Fails

Hello all,

I am hoping to see if anyone has some suggestions to my current dilemma. I have run dism repairs on this machine and found 30 corrupt files, I took the 30 files from a healthy scanned server 2016 and tried to rerun dism pointing to the new files to get them repaired, the issues is the files I copied over are also stating they are corrupted. Am I missing something in trying to get the files from a good WinSXS machine here is what I am trying to repair:

Please provide the lastest CBS logs, maybe it's an hash mismatch issue why these files are being flagged again. Provide also a copy of these files in your next post to look at.

Upload a copy of the CBS folder

Open Windows Explorer and browse to the C:\Windows\Logs folder.
Right-click on the CBS folder and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
Now the message will appear, "Windows cannot create the Compressed (zipped) Folder here. Do you want it to be placed on the desktop instead?"
Click on the Yes button here.

Attach the file CBS.zip to your next reply. If the file is too large to attach, upload the CBS.zip file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

The server above I had to rebuild and start over anyway, but the issue is similar on a few 2016 servers here is one that is acting the same. I really want to find a solution to correct this problem and hopefully work to fix the rest.

Hi,

Here's the first fix, but I'm still missing some files which I couldn't find yet!

Step 1. Download

SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.

Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.

Ran the fix and ran the DISM repair, it now fails with array out of bounds 17

Hi,

Step 1. Follow these instructions to remove an update.

Open the Start menu of Windows and type the command CMD
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, then press enter.

Let me know if it says it was successful or you get the message: The update KB4486153 is not installed on this computer.

Download the

Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:

Download the 64 bit version: - Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Link

Open the startmenu and type the command cmd.
After you find the Command Prompt, right click on it and select Run as Administrator.
Copy and paste the following into the Command Prompt and press enter.

Right-click on the file FRST64.exe and choose Run as administrator.

Copy and paste the following (code) into the Search box and click the Search Registry button.

When the scan is complete, a message will display that SearchReg.txt is saved in the same folder FRST was started from.
Post the logfile SearchReg.txt as attachment in your next reply.

The KB is not installed.

Please run FRST again to search for the KBnumber only.

1. Start the

I had those files, tried to use them and point to them during a DISM restore health but they always failed. I used them in the sfc fix and ran DISM restore health and it worked this time. I have successfully repaired this one. Thank you
