Export/Upload CBS folder On Windows 8 and Windows 10, press the Windows key, type This PC, and press Enter. On Windows Vista and Windows 7, click the Start button then click Computer. Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder. Find and double click on the Logs folder. Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy. Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS. Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder. A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created on your desktop. Please upload it to a file sharing service and provide the link to it in your next reply. Examples of services to upload to are Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace

Step#1 - FRST Fix NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system 1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop. Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one. 2. Download the attached fixlist.txt and save it to the Desktop. Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop). 3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator. 4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run. 5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply. Step#2 - DISM /RestoreHealth Scan Warning:this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own. Right-click on the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin) When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter. If prompted to overwrite the existing file go ahead. copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt" Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Please zip/upload to this thread. Please Note:: if the file is too big (over 7MB) to upload to your next post, please upload via a service such as Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace and just provide the link. Would this be something you might consider? If not, we will carry on anyway.

bruce1270 Moderator, Windows Update Analyst, Security Analyst Staff member Joined Nov 22, 2017 Posts 2,458 Jul 16, 2022 #317 Hi Windows 10 Repair Install (in-place upgrade) This will reinstall and update the operating system and fix any corruptions, without removing any file or program. But make always a backup of all your important data! Go to this Microsoft page and under the title Create Windows 10 installation media click on Download tool now. Save the tool on your Desktop and double click to run it. On the License terms page, if you accept the license terms, select Accept. On the What do you want to do page, select Create installation media (USB....) for another PC and then select Next. Choose the ISO file option. Once the download is complete, right click the ISO and select the option Mount. Open the Windows File Explorer and open the mounted ISO, and run the setup.exe file. Follow the instructions and click on the option Change what to keep. Select the option Keep personal files and apps and click next. Windows Setup will now start the in-place upgrade installation to repair Windows. Let me know how this goes.
