A few hours ago, my computer (Win 10 Home x64 SL) froze. By that, I mean the mouse and keyboard were no longer responding, but there was no BSOD. I had to shut it down by pressing the power button.
What I'd like to know is, what do I look for to find out the cause? I checked the event viewer, and the only problem involved a warning given 11 times:
The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54}
and APPID
{15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402}
to the user MYPC\PC SID (S-1-5-21-1068292645-3114734124-3019386975-1001) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
I read elsewhere that that can be fixed by changing the permissions of registry entries, but I don't know if that's the cause of the freezing.
I ran BlueScreenView (a program to read dumps) and the minidump directory is empty.
