Readyboost is not working

I am not able to enable readyboost in my windows pc. I tried going to services and starting sysmain but that didn't do anything. Also I tried going to cmd prompt (elevated) typed the following commands:

sc config rdyboost start= boot
sc start rdyboost

In short nothing worked. I figure that perhaps rdyboost.sys is corrupt for which I can't replace since I don't have a win 10 installation media. This PC was a free of charge upgrade of win 7 to win 10 that was done back in DEC 19/Jan 20.

According to your Speccy in another post, you have an SSD drive. It may be the determination of the OS that your SSD performance far outweighs any gains with ReadyBoost. Can ReadyBoost be enabled on a machine with an SSD in Windows 10?

Can I ask why you are needing ReadyBoost?
