I actually posted on BC, but haven't been able to get any help yet, so I'm going to toss this up here to get more eyes on my issue.

http://speccy.piriform.com/results/YuLt3tBPvtHBVtAVvT4ZiMM

I was told to and have successfully run:
  • Prime95
  • OCCT
  • Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool
  • HCI Memtest
  • SeaTools
  • FurMark
  • CPUSTRES
  • Driver Verifier
All tests have come up favorably with no issues besides Prime95, which restarts my PC when heat gets above 90 C.

My BSODs have all had varying stopcodes, such as WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR, PAGE_FAULT_IN_A_NONPAGED_AREA, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER and KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE. They also occur at seemingly random times. Sometimes while playing a game, other times when simply moving a file or idling my PC. I can go a day or two without any or have 10 within the hour. There is no consistency between them.

Hi!

Is your machine clean of dust?

Have you double-checked to verify that your cooling works properly, a stress test tool should not cause the system to overheat up to a point where it fails/shuts down.

Also, due to the randomness of the error codes, I would recommend that you test the RAM sticks one by one, alternating slots using: Test RAM with PassMark MemTest86

Thank you.

Yes, its cleared of dust. I did it just recently as well. When running even my most intense games, I never hit those temps with my CPU. Only when running the test. I have a large case with plenty of room, 7 case fans and liquid AIO colling on my CPU. My temps have never been high when I got those BSODs, that was unique to the stress testing. I will try testing my RAM again like suggested next.

Okay. Keep me posted.
I ran the test with one stick overnight and I'm in the middle of running the second stick in a different slot now. First test had 0 errors and I'm on the third pass with the second test, 0 errors as well so far. I'll update if an error does pop up, but it doesn't seem like its RAM. I had no errors when running HCI memtest before either.

Oops, thought I could edit my posts. Guess not, so sorry for double posting. I finished the second test on my other stick in a different slot. No errors, so it isn't RAM or my mobo slots. What next?

Well, I guess I'm just screwed then. I decided to just format my HDD and reinstall everything because this is driving me crazy and I cant even do that. I've gotten two blue screens just trying to reinstall Windows and my PC locked up 4 other times. So now I have a wiped HDD and cant even get Windows installed on it.

I just dont understand the issue. I've tested both my HDDs and my RAM. I've tested my GPU and CPU. Everything is perfectly fine. I've even taken my Windows install and drivers out of the equation. What the hell is causing these issues? I cant even test anything anymore since I cant boot into Windows..

It appears that the hardware is still under warranty. At this point, I would recommend that you take it back to the shop and have it troubleshooted by them as they have spare parts and can assist you.

I'm not sure which hardware you mean. This is a custom built PC with parts bought over the years from all different places. There isn't a shop to take it to.

Anyways, I just spent the past few hours getting everything reinstalled. It took almost 15 tries to get Windows installed again, but I finally got it. I've been slowly updating and reinstalling all of my stuff and haven't had a BSOD yet but my PC does restart at random intervals.

My PC will freeze up, nothing responds. Then one of my fans (not sure which) will rev up super high for about a second before my PC goes black and restarts itself. I've had Speccy open on my second monitor to watch temps and whenever this happens..it all seems fine. Temps are all normal as far as I can see. This happens on my 100% fresh install, entire HDD wiped. While idling, downloading, installing, copying files etc. I haven't even tested playing a game yet. Is there a way to diagnose this issue now since it isn't a BSOD and isn't leaving a log?

The fact that this is a fresh install and you are having issues, confirms a hardware issue. If possible, I would start by borrowing a high-quality PSU and testing the machine with it, just to rule out yours.

I'll give that a shot. I have an 850W installed and I believe an older 650 somewhere around here.

Ok, so no logs are being generated by these restarts, but I went and checked the Reliability Monitor and I have a slew of Hardware Errors that seem to be mostly identical. Problem is..I have no idea how to make heads or tails of this.

Thats just one example. I have 10 of those since reinstalling. How do I tell what this is?

What does your bucket ID say?
Sorry, I had to sleep for work. When I get home I'm going to clear all my logs and generate some new ones. I have over 200 event viewer entries since reinstalling and I'm not sure which are important. Figured its better to start at 0 again since. I'll post what I find.

Live kernel events are usually 0x117 and involve video - but not always.

Try that other PSU first.

Then you're down to the motherboard.

Have you re-seated all parts?

Regards. . .

Have a look in the C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports directory and see if there are any crash dumps there that can be zipped and uploaded. They might indicate what has been causing those events.
