I have uninstalled FRST as you recommended and all is well.

BTW, if you continue to have issues with blue screens accompanied by startup repair, consider following the BSOD Posting Instructions.

Hello Corrine,

I think the BSOD problem is resolved. I found the backup battery was low causing the date etc. to be lost and I replaced it, reset the BIOS to Default (what it was before I have no idea) and all appears well. Books are great. :)
