Good morning forum I am running a vista 64 bit and I am having a problem with running program that crashes immediately saying a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. The event viewer shows these errors 1026 and 1000, 1026 .net runtime and 1000 kernel 32 faulting module I have tried many things but to no avail ,so I decided to contact the forum because I trust you guys and gays and know that you are highly skilled in computer matters. Thanks for your time and expertise.

I have tried many things but to no avail
Not knowing what those "many things" were that you tried does not help at all. :(

Did you reboot?
Did you uninstall and reinstall this program?
Did you make sure you have the latest version of the program?
Have you scanned for malware?
Is your OS current?

And I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Vista support ended last year. Besides the obvious security issues, note too end of support often means support by the application developers will end too. As noted in that article,
Also, as more software and hardware manufacturers continue to optimize for more recent versions of Windows, you can expect to encounter more apps and devices that do not work with Windows Vista.

Hey Digerati thanks for the swift reply, the answer to those questions are yes and I know that vista is a dinosaur and that some program will not run on vista, however I just wanted to be sure that I did everything in my power to make this program run properly , like check to see if I needed to re-register my dll's and do I need to download a different version of .net runtime and things of that nature. Please check this event viewer log report ( error 1026 and 1000) and tell me what you think okay? and BTW I see Plodr also checking out the case, what a precious team.Log Name: ApplicationSource: Application Error

This is out of my wheelhouse. Obviously, the below give concern.
Faulting application FreemakeVC.exe, version 4.1.10.80, time stamp 0x5af16298, faulting module KERNEL32.dll
The problem (for me) is kernell32.dll errors tend to be very vague and varied and typically are related to memory management issues. If it didn't involve a multimeter or soldering iron, I would not know where to start.

Have you run sfc /scannow?

I may have looked but when I saw Vista, I backed away.
I've seen and tried to help someone running Vista just twice and that was at least 2 or 3 years ago.

I've been unable to find the NET requirements to run Freemake Video Converter.
I did see this on wikipedia
Although named "free", if user does not pay money, the big Freemake Logo is watermarked in the center of the whole video (making it useless) and conversion speed is also cut in half.
and
Since version 4.0, Freemake Video Converter's installer includes a potentially unwanted search toolbar from Conduit as well as SweetPacks malware.

From what format to what format are you trying to convert? I might be able to find a better program that will run.

If you are trying to rip a DVD, I might be able to find a better program.

Digerati,StruldBrug, and Plodr I really appreciate your time and input regarding this issue which is not something that I don't have to have, but my natural nature to go hard at everything I do and overcome obstacles is the reason that I pursued this meaningless task . Since the last time I communicated with you I have study everything about .net framework which ones are pre-install which ones are installed and how to uninstall them along with dll's fixing and re-register them and much more. Fixing the errors in event viewer seem like I was just one step away from solving this meaningless task. The reward is not even worth the effort, because I have other softwares to do the same thing that freemakes does and even a better job without the water marks and toolbars. I am finally convinced that I can use my time better and stop wasting yours on this issue, but I will call on you guys again when I have a task worthy of your attention and again thanks so much. I think that I will do some high intensity exercises now to burn off some calories and stress.

Good morning forum I remove the freemake video software along with its malware and now I cannot open up properties on the computer icon or the network icon or open up windows updates from the start menu in my windows 7.I have to go the control panel to open these properties on these operations now. I can open the computer system properties by run sysdm.cpl and the msinfo32 works in the run box. I have tried the registry tweak to fix the issue but to no avail , ran sfc /scannow and chkdsk and those reports where clean, also preformed a system restore to no avail , so my question is what's up with these new events how to fix them? Btw I had this software on both my windows vista and windows 7 which prompt me to remove it and the malware which came with it but only the windows 7 was affected like I just mention. So what is the solution to this cockamamie problem forum.

Hi. . .

A few questions, please -

  1. Where did Windows 7 come from? The entire thread up until post #8 mentioned Vista only.
  2. Is Windows 7 on the same system as Vista but in a dual-boot capacity?
  3. Or are there 2 separate systems involved?
  4. Also, did Freemake Video Converter software cause crashes under both Vista and Windows 7?
  5. Did you run Windows System Restore from Recovery or did you run it normally via Windows?
  6. Was Windows System Restore successful in restoring your system? There should have been a message upon boot-up after you ran Windows System Restore.
Bring up an elevated (Admin) CMD screen. (RIGHT-click on cmd.exe, select "Run as Administrator").

Type the following or use copy/paste into the CMD screen:
Code:
[SIZE=3]sfc /scannow[/SIZE]

It will take some time to run. Please let us know of the results. You can either copy the contents of CMD then paste it into your next post, or you can take a screenshot of CMD with an app like The Snipping Tool (click on START; type snip). Then save the file; upload and attach it to your next post.

Hello Jcgriff2 thanks for the response and the desire to help however, an hour ago I started to reinstall windows 7 completely because the event id log was indicating that may have a corrupt registry, so I decided a whole makeover would be better, plus this would free up the forum to help others that has a more serious computer repair problem. Thanks again for your willingness to help.

Hi. . .

So - I missed you by an hour! I am so sorry that I did not see this thread sooner and provided an answer/started to try and help. Please accept my profound apologies.

Given the corrupt registry, I would suggest that you test your hard drive to make sure that it's in good running order. A bad or failing HDD can be the cause of file corruption.

Run SeaTools for DOS, LONG test - https://www.sysnative.com/forums/hardware-tutorials/4072-hard-drive-hdd-diagnostics.html

It will take several hours to run, so keep that in mind when you decide on a start time.

Good luck on the reinstall.

No apologies Jcgriff2 your hands are full running a big time first class operation that serves the public with alacrity all the time. Sysnative forum is stellar and you run it with grace . I will surely take heed to your advice and run those tests.

Softwaremaniac thanks for the input, I need all the wisdom I can get the recommendation is graciously received and will be put into practice immediately. If I keep getting feed all this expert advice than one day I will be a helper and a instructor myself.
