Hi -

I am using Windows 8.1, and am not able to install KB2976978. The error message I receive is Code 800F0831. I've tried the suggestions from Microsoft in terms of getting help with updates (using the Windows update troubleshooter). I am registered to receive Windows 10 and that update is now failing as well.

Below are the results of SFCFix:

SFCFix version 2.4.5.0 by niemiro.
Start time: 2015-08-02 09:34:20.071
Microsoft Windows 8.1 Update 3 - amd64
Not using a script file.

AutoAnalysis::
SUMMARY: No corruptions were detected.
AutoAnalysis:: directive completed successfully.

Successfully processed all directives.
SFCFix version 2.4.5.0 by niemiro has completed.
Currently storing 3 datablocks.
Finish time: 2015-08-02 09:36:20.819
----------------------EOF-----------------------

But SFC scan still reports errors (file attached).
I uploaded my CBS folder via the script process as well.

Any help is appreciated.

Katie

Sorry katie, it seems like I edited your post by mistake. Can you attach the screenshot again? It wasn't showing up at all when you posted it the first time.

Also - this is the update (KB2976978) that caused me to post this thread - it still shows up as an update in Windows update that installed. When I try to install it through Windows Update, that is the error code I get (800f0831).

That was also the error message that showed when I ran RestoreHealth (800f0831).

Yes I was able to, thank you :) Follow the instructions below please.
