Hi,
I have a big problem while doing the Windows Update on my Windows 2012 r2 Standard server. While trying to install the Monthly Rollup KB5003671 on the server I get the error 0x80070831. No difference if I use the WSUS, the MS online repository or the MS download catalog as source. I always get the same error.
While investigating the issue and searching a solution I fount this document > Windows Updates Fail Error Code 0x800F0831 Server 2012 R2 . I tried what was described there and ended up with the second error code 0x800705aa.
Now I'm realy lost ...
What I did so far to solve the issue :
1. Clean boot (Result : the error did appear again while install the package KB5003671)
2. sfc /scannow (Result : no problems detected)
3. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth (Result : The operation completed successfully.)
4. SFCFix (Result : SUMMARY: No corruptions were detected.)
5. CBS files copied (CBS.zip)
But in the CBS.log I can find this ....
