Hi All - I have Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and am getting ready to upgrade it to Windows 10 Pro. I don't want to perform HD format and clean install because I have so many programs I would have to re-install. Wanted to make sure that my current OS was in best shape, so ran "sfc /scannow" on OS HD and came up with several "cannot repair corrupted files" messages in report. Tried to use "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" but came to find out it is not able to be used with Windows 7 (or is very difficult to use with 7). Looking for alternatives, I came across article from "EaseUS" that said "cannot repair corrupted files" issues can sometimes be resolved by installing free "EaseUS Partition Master" and then going to OS partition and selecting "Advanced" then "Check File System". I did so and it told me "cannot check and repair files on active partition"; however it gave me the option to check box to perform another "sfc /scannow" on next windows reboot, so I did, restarted the computer and went to go work on another project. When I returned some time later, Windows 7 was up and running and I went in to look at "CBS.log" file (copy attached to this post) to see results. I am not sure if all the previous issues have been adequately resolved or if there are still things that need my attention (and how I might go about resolving them, if so). If someone knowledgeable would please take a quick moment to look over my attached "CBS.log" file and let me know, I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much for your help with this. -Cfguy

It seems things were taken care of. Use ISO unless you have a good legal copy of 10. Wouldn't hurt to run an sfc scan after installation.

Your CBS log looks fine to me.

Tried to use "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" but came to find out it is not able to be used with Windows 7 (or is very difficult to use with 7). Looking for alternatives
You're meant to use SURT on Windows 7 systems, which is available here. It can take some time to complete so please do not close it. Once it has complete, then you'll see an Installation Complete message.

Hi BlueRobot,
APologies for my delayed reply. Thanks so much for replying to my post and for letting me know about "SURT".
One thing that concerned me when looking over the "SURT" web page you so kind to send me a link to, was a mention of "Windows 7 Service Pack" may needing to be re-downloaded and installed after running "SURT". Is this only the case for people using "SURT" who have specific problems with the Win 7 Service Pack, and thus "SURT" then possibly "uninstalling it" during the reconditioning process, or will *everyone* who downloads and uses "SURT" then need to re-download and re-install the Win Service Pack afterwards? If you would be so kind as to let me know about this, I would really appreciate your help. Thanks so much.

No, you shouldn't have any problems with running SURT. It's just a diagnostic tool.

Your CBS log looks fine to me.
Not for me, see as follows:
