I wonder how much power Social Media uses, to keep all the generally useless data that clogs up its servers ?

At least parts of social media (and only parts) have some value.

Granted, some of SM does have value, but the majority tends to just be people recording the daily minutiae of their humdrum lives in excruciating detail.

Is it truly worthy of all the power and resources it consumes.
