[SOLVED] MSCOREE.DLL file corrupted

Hi,
Recently I get an error message everytime I use certain software - one of them being Microsoft Excel 2010. The error message that pops up is attached - it has something to do with the file MSCOREE.DLL. While Excel does open after the error, certain other programs don't even open (after clicking ok on the error message). I have gone through hundreds of websites and came across a thread on this site which asked to use SFC & SFCFix. Tried both, but SFCFix crashed. The CBS log file for SFC scan is too big (36 MB approx) hence I'm not attaching it.

I'm a newbie, hope someone can help me out!

Hello softwaremaniac. I do not know how, but after your reply, I tried running the sfc scan to get the CBS log and lo & behold, it returned a clean scan. Now all my apps are opening! Thank you so much!
