1) Open administrative command prompt (ACP) and type or copy and paste:
2) sfc /scannow
3) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
4) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
5) sfc /scannow
6) wmic recoveros set autoreboot = false
7) wmic recoveros set DebugInfoType = 2
8) wmic recoveros get autoreboot
9) wmic recoveros get DebugInfoType
10) bcdedit /enum {badmemory}

11) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

12) Find a replacement driver for mbfilt64.sys > uninstall and install or uninstall the driver prior to the next upgrade attempt

13) Run HD Tune (free version) (all drives)
HD Tune website
Post images into the thread for results on these tabs:
a) Health
b) Benchmark
c) Full error scan

14) Run Sea Tools for Windows

Post an image of the test result into the thread

15) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
chkdsk /r /v
This may take hours to run so plan to run overnight.
Run on all drives using the syntax: chkdsk /r /v C: or chkdsk /r /v D: changing the drive letter to the applicable drive.

The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.

16) Use the information in this link to find the chkdsk report in the event viewer.

Hi!

Time to get precautions (while things still work!!).
If you don't already have a system image with another tool:

Download, install, open macrium reflect free.
Create the recovery media and test if it works; i.e., if it boots your pc and open macrium reflect.
Reboot to windows, open macrium reflect, select the partitions you want to include in the image.
The system partitions are:
- EFI/ESP partition (FAT32)
- MS reserved 128MB partition
- C: (or where windows is installed
- Recovery partitions
If you are still unsure and confused, select the entire disk where C: is (the image file will be bigger and it will need more time to be restored); in this case, you should also backup your important files (i.e., make a copy of them and put the copies in another safe place, i.e. another EXTERNAL disk/cd/dvd/usb key).

You can also decide to do a full system image; i.e., all disks and partitions (the image file will be bigger and it will need more time to be restored).
In this case, the backup of your important files is optional given that you include them in the image (but if you have more copies of them is better).
Click Image selected disks on this computer.
Change the destination folder; i.e., you have to choose where the image will be saved.
You can not choose a partition that you have included in the image.
All other settings are optional, hence click Next.
Scheduling is optional. Click Next.
Summary of your decisions. Click Finish to start the image creation.

Finally, create also a windows system restore point.

Attached are the screenshots to the HDTune for both drives. I uninstalled the audio driver that contains the mbfilt64.sys file, and attempted to reupdate; it is still giving me the error.Will follow up on the other steps shortly.

For HD Tune please run benchmarks on each drive.

Run Crystal Disk standard edition:

I think if sfc and dism-scanhealth came up clean, the restorehealth isn't necessary (because the health is already good).

Got a long generic pass for both hard drives from SeaTools.

NVMe = C drive, other one is alternative drive.

What is the status of the backup image?

Did Windows 8/8.1 come pre-installed on the system when new? If so, you have an OEM version of 8.1

Where did you obtain Windows 10 from? If you purchased it from Microsoft, that would be a full retail copy. I do not know if the 2 mix as I've always wiped the W7+ OEM installation drive and fresh installed W10 onto it.
