Hi,
I'm asking for help with investigating windows update issue on Windows Server 2022.
Installing KB5058385. Error is: 0x80073701.
I tried already:
- rebooting
- DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
- DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- sfc /scannow
- msdt.exe /id WindowsUpdateDiagnostic
- resetting windows update components and cleaning it's cache
- downloading update from update catalog and manual install
- extracting CABs from downloaded msu file and manual install
- DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase
Non of the above helped.
Looking on installed update history it looks like this update installed on 17-May but Windows still wants to download and install it - perhaps it failed to install on the 17'th.
Part of this update is bundled in SSU (KB5058531). This show up on the list of installed updates in control panel with date 17-May. I believe that it actually is corrupted

I can see two very similar topics here so I know that components hive and CBS hive are being requested as a first step so I already got them and they are attached.
System locale and installed language is: en-US
Thanks!

Hi Guys,

I do not need help with this anymore.
I tried to install latest Jun update, it failed the same way.
I got inpatient and I done in-place reinstall with keeping all data and settings.
This went fine and after that I was able to apply recent updates just fine.

Thanks
