Good afternoon,
I have done a silly thing:
I am running a dual-boot system which is Windows 10 (previously W7) and Windows 8.1. Having successfully upgraded W7 to W10, I decided that W 8.1 was redundant and using EaseUS Partition Manager, I attempted to delete the W 8.1 partition and resize the W10 partition (on the same HDD.)
Unfortunately on starting this procedure when the PC rebooted I find I can no longer access W10 (Error Code 0xc000007b) but (fortunately) I still have W 8.1.
I did get an error message when I started EaseUS that it was incompatible as it was 32bit instead of 64 but, since the program started anyway I proceeded leading to my current difficulty.
W10 has tried to repair itself but cannot. Chkdsk fond no errors In the W10 partition. W10 gives the option to reinstall itself but I am worried about loosing settings and apps although I believe my files will remain intact. In order that I do not dig myself in a bigger hole, should I proceed with the reinstallation and if successful what is the best way to remove the redundant W8.1.
My Brain Hurts!
Thanks & Regards, Jim
