The cameras of more than 100 automated license plate readers have been streaming live on the web, "often with totally open Web pages accessible by anyone with a browser," the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) said in a new report released last week.
It seems if we leave our front doors, everything we do from that point is recorded and becomes public record. If not our cell phones tracking our every location to within a few yards, it is security and traffic cameras recording our travels - and using facial recognition to see who is driving or sitting in our cars. It is to the point even good, law abiding people need to start using burner phones, wear disguises when out, and swap rental cars every few days. :r1:
I don't mind giving up a little of my privacy and my freedoms to ensure me and my family are safe. But it really has gone too far when various departments of "Public Safety" :banghead: are so careless they are the ones threatening our privacy and security.
