Keeps installing Kb4103713, Kb4103718, Kb4338818. Windows 7 Pro (Build 7601) SP1 x64.

Hi:

This is a Dell Optiplex 7010 that continuously installs Kb4103713, Kb4103718, Kb4338818. Each of these KBs updates are 31KB in size. Even though the PC receives its updates from a Win2k8R2 Wsus server, the Wsus console reports that the PC have 5 needed updates (Kb4093118, Kb4093113, Kb4103718, Kb4338818 and Kb4103713). I reset the windows updates components but the problem keeps going. Here are some screenshots and the SFCFix results. Here is my dropbox link with the CBS folder:

Sorry, we cannot be upgraded to Windows 10. Can we proceed with the Windows 7 SP1 x64 troubleshooting please?

Install Update with DISM



  1. Download this update and save to your desktop. The file name will be Windows6.1-KB3004375-v3-x64.cab.zip.
  2. Right-click on this file and select Extract All... Click the Extract button. You can close the folder window that opens
  3. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  4. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator. Go ahead and allow if you receive the UAC prompt.
  5. Copy and paste the following command into the command prompt window and press enter.

    dism /online /add-package /packagepath:%userprofile%\desktop\Windows6.1-KB3004375-v3-x64.cab
  6. You should receive the message:
    The operation completed successfully.
    Restart Windows to complete this operation. <---You may not get this line.
    Do you want to restart the computer now (Y/N)? <---You may not get this line.

Go ahead and do so if prompted. Let me know what errors if any come up. If you do get errors, please zip/attach your CBS.log
 
Hi:

I didn't get errors following your procedure. Now it repeatedly offer to install KB4103718 and Kb4338818.

Retrieve Components Hive
1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
2. Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload to a file sharing service and just provide the link here.
