Hello,
I've been unable to update my Windows 10 for quite some time now.
Every time I attempt an update it usually failed after the 2nd restart at around 24% and gave me this message "Undoing changes made to your computer".
Recently I tried to repair it with following this Youtube tutorial here, and I then tried these cmd prompt :

sfc /scannow
Result : "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation."

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Result : "Error: 1009
The configuration registry database is corrupt."

I'm honestly lost until I stumbled upon this forum and I'm sorry the 1st post I made is to ask for help from the fine folks here.
Thank you!

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Upload your DRIVERS Hive
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config and locate the DRIVERS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named DRIVERS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Hi,

This looks good, please run the following DISM command again and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Ohhh this is the 1st time it got to 100%
"The restore operation completed successfully.
The operation completed successfully."

Great, please attempt to update. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS logs.

Ok Maxstar now it's installing the feature update to Windows 10, version 22H2 (30% as of writing)

I'll keep you posted!

It worked! The update finished without any hiccup 😄

I think after running ComponentsScanner on step #3 in the Windows Update Forum Posting Instructions it fixed some of the bad registries, but I didn't try to update it again after creating this thread.

Thank you so much Maxstar for your help 😁

You're welcome, and yes ComponentsScanner has solved the issue with the COMPONENTS hive... (y)

By the way do you guys have some other way so that I can donate? Paypal gave me this message "Donations to this recipient aren't supported in this country" (Indonesia) when I try donating via the link.

Thank you very much for your donation to Sysnative, this is much appreciated.. (y)
