This is a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 VM on Hyper-v server, i tried to install the KB with Windows Update, with the .msu from catalog and the .cab with dism, i'm getting those errors:

###

The folder "amd64_microsoft-windows-lsa.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.24335_pt-br_e6dec378331c2578" don't exist on c:\windows\winsxs but the folder 'amd64_microsoft-windows-lsa.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.24335_en-us_e5428cf3c66827d9' (and the lsasrv.dll.mui) is there, this server wasin 'en-us' and some time ago we installed the 'pt-br' language pack, i have a clone of this server were the folder "amd64_microsoft-windows-lsa.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.24335_pt-br_e6dec378331c2578" is there and the updates are ok....

I followed the steps on Windows Update Forum Posting Instructions , and i'm attaching the cbs and the sfcix.txt(i had already reset all Windows Update configurations and cleared the cache, used surt too, none of that worked)

Hi!

Please do the following:

Retrieve Components Hive
1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
2. Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload to a file sharing service. Examples of services to upload to are Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace and then just provide the link in your reply.

Hey,

I indeed was having some trouble copying the file, since this is a production server i can't reboot rigth now so i used robocopy with backup option to cop the file, if this caused any problem with the file please let me know and i'll schedule a reboot and copy the again...

Hi!

Install Update with DISM

  1. Download this update and save to your desktop. The file name will be Windows6.1-KB4480970-x64.cab.zip.
  2. Right-click on this file and select Extract All... Click the Extract button. You can close the folder window that opens
  3. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  4. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator. Go ahead and allow if you receive the UAC prompt.
  5. Copy and paste the following command into the command prompt window and press enter.

    dism /online /add-package /packagepath:%userprofile%\desktop\Windows6.1-KB4480970-x64.cab
  6. You should receive the message:
    The operation completed successfully.
Restart Windows to complete this operation. <---You may not get this line.
Do you want to restart the computer now (Y/N)? <---You may not get this line.

Go ahead and do so if prompted. Let me know what errors if any come up. If you do get errors, please zip/attach your CBS.log

Note: If you get the message that no packages that require processing were found, use the following command instead:

dism /online /add-package /packagepath:%userprofile%\desktop\Windows6.1-KB4480970-x64.cab\Windows6.1-KB4480970-x64.cab

If successful, retry one of the updates that failed and attach CBS.log if it fails again.

Hi

I don't know if i did something wrong but i wasn't able to open the downloaded file and extract the content, for me it was showing a folder with the '.cab' at the end and not a file with this extension, but, i have downloaded the KB4480970 from Windows Update Catalog and did the installation with dism, the process completed sucessfully and after a reboot i tried the failed update (KB4519976) again and it was installed sucessfully too, Thank you very much for your help, i was almost hitting my head on a door with this one...

In order to satisfy my technical curiosity, if possible, how did you manage to found out that the KB4480970 was 'missing' ?

Again, thanks

I understand, reviewing my tests since the begning i saw that i tried to reinstall some updates and this one was in the list but in that i received an 'this update is already installed' and didn't try the dism installation option... did some validation this morning and everything is working,

Thanks for your help and your time @softwaremaniac
