Hello!
I'm hoping that I can get a little advice to hunt down what is causing my laptop to freeze randomly for seconds at a time, usually when performing what I understand to be an IO intensive task (although this may be a red herring, this is just my perception!)
A little context:
*] Every time I open up task manager, I see system interrupts sitting at anywhere between 87% - 100% for at least 5 seconds. This then clears and CPU usage is anywhere between 10 - 30%
*] I was originally working on the theory that it was something to do with my M2 SSD - There seem to be large temporary hangs/freezes whenever I invoke disk activity, for example downloading an application using a web browser, or extracting the contents of a zip file to a new folder
*] I used msconfig to disable everything at startup. Things ran very smoothly. I enabled all non Microsoft services and things continued to run smoothly. I started to get lagspikes again after I enabled enough services (through an hour to trial and error and reboots) to connect to my router via w-fi. Could this point to an issue with my wifi drivers?
Outside of the lag moments, the system is fairly snappy and stable - I have no unexpected reboots. The only thing of note is that the CPU fan is a little more active than I would expect, despite task manager displaying a medium to low CPU utilisation (outside of the spikes)
I know that this is quite a vague description and I'm not expecting the resolution to be a quick or easy one. However - if anybody could just take a look through all of my logs and point me in the direction of something I should start poking at, I would very much appreciate it! (I'd also be interested in any self-help literature to help me analyse these logs myself in the future, if anybody can recommend a decent link!)
Thanking you all in advance.
