Installed IE 11 from IE 9 had to uninstall IE 11. Won't roll back to IE9

Help

Running Windows 7 sp1 X64. Installed IE11 but had problems with our intranet so I uninstalled IE 11 and IE 9 didn't roll back and I can't install IE 9 getting the message that a newer version is installed.

Try uninstalling the Platform Update (Platform update for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1).

If that fixes it, you will also need to install the IE 10 and IE 11 Blocking Toolkits (Download Toolkit to Disable Automatic Delivery of Internet Explorer 10 from Official Microsoft Download Center and Download Toolkit to Disable Automatic Delivery of Internet Explorer 11 from Official Microsoft Download Center) to prevent an automated upgrade.
