Impossible Speeds Reported

I've noticed sometimes, that HW Monitor will report temps, that to me are simply not possible. It's saying the Motherboard and CPU went past the boiling point of water, and that I had a fan speed of 22,000 + RPM. These are all when the computer is NOT in use, and always overnight. It did it again last night, with temp going to 114 Celsius. I don't get what is going on here. It must be a glitch somewhere, because the fan speeds are quite high and impossible for the fans I have.

Here are some a Screenshot for reference.

You should never rely on just one HW monitoring program. I note this is not uncommon. It often happens when there is no sensor where the program is monitoring.

I have had the best luck, in terms of realistic and accurate reporting, with HWiNFO64. But the amount of information it provides can be overwhelming. So I recommend when using for the first time, you select “Sensors only” when prompted. Then scroll down to your motherboard’s section to see the temps.

I also like Speccy (from the makers of CCleaner). It is a great program but for some reason, it often does not report voltages correctly. For example, it is currently reporting the following for this computer:
+3.3V = 2.028 V
+5.0V = 3.367 V
+12V = 0.048 V

If any of those were true, this computer would not be running.

I figured it wasn't right, as the computer shouldn't have been even on. I played a couple games of Heroes of the storm and I never went past 51c for temps, which is normal for this pc. I will run HWiNFO64 overnight and compare the two side by side, and see what they say.

You might want to check out Core Temp to monitor CPU temps in real time through a System Tray applet. This is what I use full time.

Core Temp seems to be much more accurate. I'm nowhere near the TJ Max temp. It's reporting the same as HWiNFO64. Thanks for that.

Quick question, with a Corsair H55 Water Cooler, a 200MM Exhaust fan. Is it normal to see temps below the temp in the room ? Min temp is so far 19c, and temp in room is 23c.

Is it normal to see temps below the temp in the room ?
No. In fact, the Laws of Physics don't allow it, Even though you are using water, it is still dependent on a fan and ambient (room) air temperature. And it is impossible for air to cool anything below the air's own temp (without evaporation going on - as in your skin and windchill factors). That would require some form of active air conditioning or refrigeration.

So if your room is 23°C, there is no way the processor (which even at idle is producing some heat) could be 19°C. I would not be too concerned. Those sensors cost about a penny to make. They are very low tech - definitely not precision measuring devices. Are you measuring your ambient temp at your PCs air intake vent?

I didn't think to check that air temp. I ran Core temp for about 4 and half hours, and it's reporting my max temp was 256°C, which as you know is impossible. Also I should note, the PC did not shut down. I'm very curios to why when I put the pc under load I get what seems to be more temp, yet when I idle. I get very cold temp like 17°C, or very hot.

It sounds like your sensor is bad. If so, there is nothing you can do about it. I would probably check the motherboard's website to see if there are any driver or BIOS updates that address the sensor issue. Beyond that, if your system remains stable, you will just need to live with it.

HWiNFO64 seemed to be the accurate one out of the 3. I left it run overnight and seen no abnormal temp readings. In the summer I plan to completely overhaul system.

Too bad HWiNFO doesn't have a real-time System Tray applet or I would probably switch to it for real-time monitory. BTW, Speccy has a tray applet too.
