I want to solve an older Asus P5GDC-V issues XP. Plus convert to dual boot W7 as is?

Have older Asus P5GDC-V pc to see if I can fix it after owner (my brother in-law and he has lost control of personal data to keep, making an image of his nightmare so to be safe.)
He screwed it bad, after some years, plus want to dual boot W7, to use as a RDT terminal on 4 gb mem. W7 to betters Pc's/ LT's as a solution.
That/This will refresh me to older fixes. As I'm forgetting XP, an repairs here..Hmmm...

Lets start. Be kind... Okay. Refresher for me.

I can and will install a new drive and clean install W7, keep all the same XP as is. F12? pick a boot drive for now. Till I can bring the older XP to somewhere close to working well.
I want to bring back to life his XP/v3 systems as is. Where would you start? This is a refresher project.

Issue 1: It wants the CD for XP. Okay, But I recall this would have outdate non sp3 files.

Options needed, so the refresh the PC and me. If I can't find a SP3 Cd.

As I don't think I have a Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3 CD?

Anyone have a link to a image file I burn a cd of XP-Pro SP3?

[HKEY LOCAL MACHINE] \Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\WinLogon. Seem to be the issue.

The DLL list on the drive. Can I use an old Autoexec.bat Call at boot up, to import a fix to this reg file. So can log in?

This fix is being done remotely, to a pc on the same network, where I can't login pc, but can read drive and edit Autoexec.bat to call a script maybe.:huh:

Is there a way to run Last Known Good Configuration for XP from boot ini edit? But file is lock so I can't edit if could run.

Fully loaded from discarded parts, per ASUS maximum specs.

Dual boot. Vista 32, W7. As max mem. was only 4gb. OOPS!:r1:
I don't keep up with hardware spec's these days so much as to older stuff. But try to stay as current as can, with best of todays offerings.......:thumbsup2:.............:lol:
