I need help fixing my computer adapt please!

So what's going on is that I can't download some updates from windows I can't install new graphics card drivers. When I go to device manger and try to update some stuff there it says something like configuration registry database corrupt or something like that so can someone please help!

Are you running Windows 7 or Windows 8?
