Hi all,,

I am posting here to introduce myself

I found this Forum having seen a post by "Go The Power" who was the first person to come up with a "work around"/solution to a SFC /Scannow, could not fix Avast (latest update) issue and I am VERY impressed as it "fixed my issue and SFC /Scannow succeeds (until Avast officially fix the issue).

Microsoft, so far, have yet to set up online Help for Windows 10 via its "Event log online Help" link so I have often sought advice via the Microsoft Community. Regretfully, many posted replies to too often IMHO respond with with either of or all of Run SFC, DISM, do a Windows 10 repair or restore or do a fresh Full clean install to solve many issues. Often users advise these solution did not work and then the advice from the same posters quite often ceases. Whilst SFC and DISM are often a good idea (and repair or clean-up reinstall may be the only solutions ) few wish to reinstall windows and spend the next several days reinstalling all their software and doing all the fixes they have implemented to deal with Win 10 issues and I believe some of these solutions are suggested disproportionately ("sledge hammer to crush a nut". MAYBE my belief is misguided due to my own lack of knowledge.

I have joined here as I am hoping I may find help and knoweldge from those far more knowledgeable and experienced than I am.

Over the last few I have maintained a personal log of changes, solutions, workarounds and fixes I have found to work around/solve my O/S issues when I had Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) and now my Home PC has a clean install of Windows 10 Pro (x64). Of course If I see members asking questions where I have logged possible solutions I used then I will of course be very happy to share what I did (but I'm not a IT professional and most solutions were gleaned from the internet).

Even though My PC is highly stable now, I am still plagued with 3 non problematic issues I'd like to understand and resolve. No.2 below I cannot even find an explanation on the Web exactly what they are/mean or whether potentially problematic (very surprising a so often seen Cbs.logs submitted online)

I am not seeking advice in this Member introduction Post merely being informative why I have initially joined, and what I will be posting initial questions for (if I am unable to find solutions now my registration gives me access to the Forum Search feature).

1) 600+ SFC duplicate ownership warnings (SFC /scannow reports no integrity errors and passes verification).
2) Multiple ID 10016 Cortana related Errors at start up sometimes (other times there are none),
3) 1 Warning nearly every Win start-up since I installed Win 10 (Aug 2015) in my Event Viewer
Warning: ”e1iexpress ID Code 27”

Well I think I've waffled enough, so if you are still reading and not fallen asleep  I finally wish to say I am happy to have found this Forum and to be here with you all.

Hi DKO and welcome to Sysnative forums!

I am glad to hear you found my post helpful :)

I agree with what your saying, often the fixes are rather straight forward if you take the time to understand it, plus its always fun to come across an new issue, analysis it and find a solution :p.

1) 600+ SFC duplicate ownership warnings (SFC /scannow reports no integrity errors and passes verification).

These errors are perfectly normal, you will see them in almost(if not all?) CBS log from Win8+. But if you like post a thread in the Windows Update forum with your CBS log and I will take a look at it :)

You are very kind. If these are normal and often in their 100's I would not wish to take up yours and others time unless very easily to identify and deal with. I will certainly post on my ID 10016 errors issue as I have followed every reasonable fix suggestion without success, and although not affecting my PC in any way, the fact they keep appearing at start-up on many occasions, is driving my sense of being in control of my PC, NUTS :banghead:. (I'm pretty sure its down to MS not my PC), just like their latest regedit.exe in TH2 crashes when it finds a very long file path during a search. Luckily I know the solution to that (overwrite it with the original Win 10 Release's regedit.exe. Of course subsequent running of sfc /scannow "fixes it" -Hmmmm- by changing it back again LOL).

I won't clog up this introduction section further, as I appreciate its not meant for issue discussions.

Thanks again GTP for making me feel welcome and offering to have a look :smile9:. I will post seeking advice in a day or two.

Kind Regards

Welcome to Sysnative Forums!

I did fall asleep now that I think about it! (KIDDING - LOL)

I thought that your 3 points were written out extremely well; certainly easy to understand.

You appear to be a very well read person.

Sincerely,

John

lol I am often accused of the same thing. But when it comes to technical issues, I consider too much information better than not enough.
