For starters, the name is Angel of Nothingness, or AoN, or DDAoN, or tsukasadt, or...there's an awfully long list, so I'll leave it at those. If you're an anime fan/addict like me, you've probably met me on one of the hundreds of websites I've either helped to make, have staffed, or am simply present on (I was notorious on Zone-Anime back before I joined its staff...I miss those days. XD). :)

I'm inactive reserve military, a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps to be specific. Though within the Marine Corps I fill the role as an electrician/technician on vastly out-dated mass communication systems, I am an Internet programmer by profession.

About 10 years ago I first dabbled in HTML and CSS, now I've fluent in ASP, PHP, JavaScript, Java, AJAX, all languages programmable via Microsoft Visual Studio, and I'm proud to say that the majority of what I do is in Notepad, not those high-end programs like Dreamweaver.

When it comes to operating systems, or computer hardware, I'm not an expert, but I'm far from a novice either. I suppose you could say I'm a bit of a jack of some traits, master of one (BTW, my sense of humor is impossibly atrocious :S). ^^'

Ummm, let's see...I play a lot of games, including, but not limited to: World of Warcraft, StarCraft, StarCraft II, Warcraft I, II, III, Diablo II, Hellgate London, Mass Effect I, II, III, Dragon Age I, II, Halo I, II, and I just finished both Chronicles of Riddick. I read a lot of SciFi, including the entire Star Trek Voyager series, a fair bit of fantasy (I'm currently reading the Lost Years of Merlin epic), and, of course, all sorts of military books. My interests in movies/TV series is about as bad as my taste in games and books, SciFi, fantasy, and NO COMEDY, well...Down Periscope was a good one. That should leave only music...please, no rap. :P

Well, that's me in a nutshell. I look forward to my stay with Sysnative for a long time to come. Everyone take care, and I hope to get to know you as good friends. ^^

BTW, blame Padre for my being here, he told me about this place. ;)

Oh great, you're here too! Now I'll never get help. :P

Less joking, thanks for the welcome, and it's good to "see" you again. ^^

Welcome aboard, AoN.

As a fan of military, technology, and fantasy (and I assume you can squeeze in just a tad of some suspension-of-disbelief stuff), I've sent you a PM with an attachment you may find interesting.

I am NOT a programmer - but can get by with some minor things. The games you play are way beyond me - I'll stick with chess, pente, go, certain card games and the like. Every time I've tried one of those others, I last about 1-2 minutes before getting killed. LOL!

No gamer here - never could sit still & focus....

'Mind games' of late can be fun at times & are rather interesting though! :)

Wow, a conversation magically sparked! Well, jcgriff2, on TSF I used the alias "DDAoN" because someone already stole "AON".

Kosh, I'll check it out when I get off work. ^^

Corrine, thank you for the warm welcome. :)

Also, why am I a design expert? :S

Welcome AoN aka Angel to Sysnative!

A person after my own heart when it comes to SciFi and Fantasy and although I love to game, I tend more to the brainteasers, side scrollers, 1st person shooter types.

Oh, and my Dad was military, Army, and wanted to be a Lifer and got to 14 yrs but ultimately got an honorable discharge for medical reasons. My Dad was amazing; can read a bit about him here

In this galaxy there’s a mathematical probability of three million Earth-type planets. And in the universe, three million million galaxies like this. And in all that, and perhaps more...only one of each of us. -Dr. McCoy, Star Trek, “Balance of Terror”

Wow, a conversation magically sparked!

That seems to happen when I'm around... :grin1:

Well, jcgriff2, on TSF I used the alias "DDAoN" because someone already stole "AON".

An Admin should be able to take care of that for you. Know any?

(you should have asked me.... I've done many of those)

why am I a design expert? :S

Would you like to be something else? I do know some helpful, friendly Admins here that can change it.

LilBambi, Angel of Sysnative? Where'd that come from!? :S

AndroidOS and Wrench97, thank you for the warm welcome. ^^

jcgriff2, Yes, if only I had thought of that before...wait...I did! Don't remember who I had first PMed, but they said they weren't going to delete an account, even an inactive one, just so I could have the name I wanted. I can understand that perspective, having been an administrator of more networks and forums than I care to remember, so I saw no reason to pursue it. If you read the actual introduction paragraph that I posted, both here and on TSF (they're nearly identical), I specifically say "the name is Angel of Nothingness, or AoN", indicating the AoN is an abbreviation of the actual name. DDAoN is a variation I had to come up with when I started to encounter places where someone, or somebot, had already used it. DDAoN is short for Death Dealer Angel of Nothingness (tribute to Underworld). Also, I take it that you were the one that made me a design expert. As much as I appreciate it, I'm more a programmer than a designer, there just isn't much distinction of that on TSF.

Kosh, now that I'm not typing on my phone, a bit of a better reply for ya, I'm a chess player too. Not an expert, or anything like that, but I'm not oblivious to the strategic aspect of it that many can't really grasp. For me, I need something a little more natural, so RTS games like StarCraft are much more up my alley. As for card games, give me Duel Monsters or death, I can't stand most other ones. ^^'

Welcome AoN

The current title can easily be changed to more reflect your abilities. John likely just changed it assuming that your place on the Design Team at TSF made you a Design Expert...

I personally prefer developer but, I don't need a new title :grin1:

As with everywhere we have met, feel free to ask me any questions if you have any!

I do believe this is only the second place we've "met", but I appreciate it. :P

As for the title, I'm not concerned about it, I was just caught by surprise to find it there out of nowhere. ^^'

In terms of terminology, developer is a better term for me than designer, but I prefer Internet Programmer, since that is what I studied nearly a decade to be, though now I realize I should've done the studying at a college instead of in my room. :(

Well, I suppose if I'm going to be the Angel of Sysnative that I should be treated like it, so bow to me! :P

Wait a minute ... only the fallen angel wants to be bowed to. LOL! You said you were the angel of nothingness. ;)
